2019 Spring Provider Training Workshop

You and your staff are invited to attend the 2019 Spring SoonerCare Provider Training Workshop hosted by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) and DXC Technology (DXC).  

OHCA and DXC highly recommend that all providers, office managers/administrators and their staff attend this workshop! We will be covering important information and topics for multiple provider types. 

Classes include: 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services, Advanced Claim Denials, Insure Oklahoma 101, Patient-Centered Medical Home Updates and Reminders, Provider Contracting Essentials, Reach Out and Read, SoonerCare Referrals, and SoonerCare Tools of the Trade.  

OHCA and DXC highly recommend that all providers attend this workshop!  

Class descriptions explain the covered topics and recommended audience. Presentations will be posted one week before the scheduled workshop for Providers to download and view. Classes will fill up soon, so mark your calendar and register now!

 The workshops will be held at five locations statewide, beginning April 30.


SoonerCare Webinar Training

Insure Oklahoma

OHCA and DXC will be presenting an Insure Oklahoma webinar on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

The Insure Oklahoma webinar will review Insure Oklahoma's employer sponsored insurance plan that helps employers provide their eligible employees with affordable health care. Eligible individuals may also participate in the Insure Oklahoma Individual Plan to have affordable health care. This webinar is for SoonerCare/Insure Oklahoma Medical Home Providers.

Focus Forward

The Focus Forward Oklahoma Program is working to address issues related to access and utilization of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) through policy, education, and communication. Below are a few highlights to share with you.
Focus Forward Oklahoma continues to provide no-cost LARC training to Oklahoma providers, and we’ll offer training for clinical support staff this spring. Trainings kicked-off March 9, with additional sessions scheduled for April 13, May 11, and June 8, 2019. Training sessions take place in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Oklahoma SoonerCare 101

Oklahoma SoonerCare 101 is designed to educate office staff about billing and procedural aspects of Oklahoma SoonerCare. SoonerCare 101 is comprised of two classes to assist providers in understanding some of the general SoonerCare policies and how to bill claims to the SoonerCare program through the OHCA Provider Portal. There are two classes offered: Introduction to Oklahoma SoonerCare and the Provider Secure Site. Class curriculum is applicable to all provider types.

This training is not limited to a specific provider type, yet serves as a  general overview of all aspects of the Oklahoma SoonerCare program. 

Introduction to Oklahoma SoonerCare will discuss covered services for adults and children, some additional programs that are supported by OHCA and general policy information. The Provider Portal Class curriculum is applicable to all provider types and will cover how to log into the portal, how to check member eligibility, the process of claim submission, claim inquiries, prior authorization submission/inquiries and other aspects of the SoonerCare Provider Portal.

These sessions are held in Oklahoma City and Tulsa every other month.
